How to choose an EPSO preparation platform: an honest comparison

Search for EPSO preparation and you'll find a handful of long-established platforms, a few newer tools, some books, and a lot of noise. They're not really competing on the same thing — they're built on different assumptions about what candidates need. Here's how the options differ, written by someone who builds one of them, so read it with that in mind and check the claims yourself.

Pay-per-package platforms. The established model: you buy a pack of practice tests, or a module for a specific test type, often bundled with webinars. Packages typically run from tens to a few hundred euros depending on how much you buy. The strength is depth — years of accumulated question banks, detailed statistics, and in some cases trainers who've been doing this for a decade or more. The weakness is that your practice volume is capped by what you paid for, and heavy practisers end up buying again.

Subscriptions. You pay monthly (or for a fixed period) and practise as much as you want. Better suited to how most candidates actually prepare — intensively for six to ten weeks around a test date, then stopping. The risk is a subscription you forget to cancel, so check the cancellation terms before you buy anything.
